The WMIC 2009 Abstract Submission Site is Now Open.
The purpose of this email is to announce that:
The WMIC 2009 abstract submission site is open
The Steering Committee is soliciting applications for WMIC 2009 Abstract Reviewers
To WMIC is pleased to announce that our abstract submission site is open and ready to receive your abstract submission. We are using a new submission system, Abstract Central, a ScholarOne product. The new system will function much like the system used for JMIC 2007 and WMIC 2008, with two major differences:
Abstract Central is configured to collect disclosures of financial relationships directly from each co-author. Every co-author will receive an email urging them to access the system and complete their disclosures. All co-authors MUST complete their disclosures in order for an abstract to be accepted for presentation. Accurately entering your co-authors' email address is, therefore, critical.
Abstract Central enables affiliation consistency and accuracy by requiring the submitting author to create affiliations first and then to add authors, selecting the proper affiliation for each author.
WMIC 2009 has arranged for Abstract Central to create an account for each submitting author who participated in previous WMIC, JMIC, or SMI conferences. Your Abstract Central User ID and Password should be the same as when using the previous abstract submission system.
WMIC 2009 will embrace all aspects of Molecular Imaging, and, except for the first day's Educational Sessions, the program will be constructed almost entirely on the strength of submitted abstracts. View a complete list of abstract categories and access the submission system.

The Steering Committee is soliciting applications for WMIC 2009 Abstract Reviewers
In order to develop a broad-based, highly-qualified number of WMIC 2009 Abstract Reviewers, the Steering Committee decided to implement an Abstract Reviewer application process this year. Please review the simple list of criteria below and seriously consider assisting WMIC 2009 through becoming an Abstract Reviewer.
Applicants for WMIC 2009 Abstract Review should:
Be a member of at least one of the following organizations: AMI, SMI, ESMI, FASMI
Have at least 3 years of research experience beyond their PhD, MD or equivalent diploma
Provide a short CV and a list of (co)authored papers in the field of molecular imaging by emailing admin@molecularimaging.org
Indicate in the same email which categories (no more than two) they would like to review (the full list of categories is provided below)
Provide the items listed above by the application deadline of March 20th
Have adequate time during the period of May 22-June 8 to complete review of up to 30 abstracts via a convenient online review system
Abstract Reviewer applications will be reviewed. Applicants will be notified of their status by April 13.
The scientific quality of the WMIC depends on excellent and unbiased abstract review. Your help in this process is greatly appreciated.
Sincerely,
Timothy J. McCarthy, PhD, AMI President
Chrit Moonen, PhD, SMI President
