The committee of the European Society for Autoradiography (ESA) would like to wish the membership a happy Christmas and prosperous New Year.

2008 was a very successful year for the ESA, the main highlight being an excellent scientific meeting held in May in the delightful Austrian city of Salzburg.

Current plans for 2009 include a macro-autoradiography training course for September. With the current situation in the pharmaceutical and agrochemical industries, it is probably quite important that you inform your management as soon as possible of any meetings or courses that you might wish to attend. Hence, the details of the next training course are as follows:

The 2009 macro-autoradiography training course will be held at AstraZeneca, Macclesfield in the United Kingdom from Sunday 6 September to Thursday 10 September, inclusive. The cost for the training course will be 950 GBP and will include all meals and accommodation. Further details pertaining to the course will be circulated early next year.

Looking further ahead, the ESA plans to hold their 8th European Meeting in early summer 2010, at a northern European city, final location yet to be confirmed. In addition, there are plans to hold a short micro-autoradiography training course sometime during 2010. Details of this will be forthcoming in due course.

As ever, please ensure that you notify the Hon. Secretary of the ESA if you no longer wish to be a member of the society or if your contact details change. Equally important, please contact the Secretary if you would like to nominate new members, whether from industry or academia.
