Course objectives

The principal objective of the class is to prepare students for general understanding in clinical nuclear medicine practice. On completion of the class, students should have developed the highest level of clinical competency and skills needed to successfully provide nuclear medicine services. The class provides a broad understanding of general nuclear medicine, as well as advanced subspecialties in nuclear oncology, nuclear cardiology, and molecular imaging.

Teaching methods

During the training, students spend a majority of their time at Linkou Chang Gung Memorial Hospital for genereal nuclear medicine and molecular imaging training. Additional radionuclide therapy lecture will be given at Keelung CGMH. Students are ask to attend weekly nuclear medicine lectures, journal club, case reviews, research mentorship meetings, and monthly Grand Rounds.

Course description

Students attend the class to learn the techniques and skills of radiation protection, performing quality control of nuclear medicine imaging. Applications of computer in nuclear medicine imaging reconstruction and data analysis are also included in the class. The course is one of the basic requirement courses for the clinical practice and the board examination of nuclear medicine.
